GYM

                                                      GYM

gymnasium also known as a gym is a covered location for athletics

Gymnasia apparatuses such as barbells, jumping board, running path, tennis-balls, cricket field  and fencing area are used as exercises In safe weather outdoor locations are the most conducive to health

There are Various Types of Exercises Perform in Gym :

The Four most important types of Exercise

1) Aerobic Exercise

2) Strength Training

3) Stretching

  1. 4) Balance exercises

                     1) Aerobic Exercise:

Physical activity that increases the heart rate and the body's use of oxygen. It helps  improve a person's physical fitness.

Aerobic exercise is performed by repeating sequences of light-to-moderate intensity activities for extended periods of time.

Aerobic exercise may be better referred to as "solely aerobic", as it is designed to be low-intensity enough that all carbohydrates are aerobically turned into energy via mitochondrial  ATP production. Mitochondria are organelles that rely on oxygen for the metabolism of carbs, proteins, and fats.

Advantages :

  • 1) Improves cardiovascular conditioning.
  • 2) Decreases risk of heart disease.
  • 3) Lowers blood pressure.
  • 4) Increases HDL or "good" cholesterol.
  • 5) Helps to better control blood sugar.
  • 6) Assists in weight management and/or weight loss.
  • 7) Improves lung function.
  • 8) Decreases resting heart rate.

  • Disadvantages:
    • Overuse injuries because of repetitive, high impact exercise such as distance running.
    • Is not an effective approach to building muscle
    2)Strength Training
Strength training is a type of physical exercise specializing in the use of resistance to induce muscular contraction which builds the strength, anaerobic endurance, and size of skeletal muscles.
  • Advantages:
    • 1) Lower Abdominal Fat
    • 2) Better Cardiovascular Health
    • 3) Controlled Blood Sugar Levels
    • 4) Reduced Cancer Risks
    • 5) Lowered Injury Risks.
    • 6) Strengthened Mental Health.
    • 7) Improved Flexibility and Mobility
    • 8) Elevated Body Image

  • Disadvantages:
    • 1) Higher injury risk (free weights, uncontrolled movement)
    • expensive.
    • 2) Weight lifted is limited by the 'sticking point'
    • 3) More muscle soreness

  • 3) Stretching Exercise :
Stretching is a form of physical exercise in which a specific muscle or tendon (or muscle group) is deliberately flexed or stretched in order to improve the muscle's felt elasticity and achieve comfortable muscle tone. The result is a feeling of increased muscle control, flexibility, and range of motion.

Advantages:

  • 1) Increases your flexibility
  • 2) Increases your range of motion
  • 3) Improves your performance in physical activities
  • 4) Increases blood flow to your muscles
  • 5) Improves your posture
  • 6) Helps to heal and prevent back pain
  • 7) Is great for stress relief
  • 8) Can calm your mind

Disadvantages :

It can cause micro-trauma or tears in the muscles or connective tissue. As a result, this can create a weakness that may surface later in the run. Stretching should be performed for a prescribed period of time, generally not to exceed 5 to 10 minutes.
